At 10:55 on Friday January 1st, 2021 the Nesconset Fire Department was alerted for a Mutual Aid Request to the Lakeland Fire Department for a Working Structure Fire at the Colony Park Apartments located at 500 Peconic Street. Arriving units found active fire in multiple apartments in a building containing 16 residential units. Tower Ladder 4-4-7 operated on scene under the command of Chief AJ Anderson. This was a multi-department response including units from the Ronkonkoma, Hauppauge, Central Islip, Bohemia and Holtsville Fire Departments and the Central Islip Hauppauge Ambulance Corp. Other apartments in the building were damaged by smoke, heat and water and the American Red Cross was also on scene to aid the displaced residents. All Nesconset Fire Department units cleared the scene at 13:50.
