Brush Fire in Commerdinger County Park

At 15:58 on Thursday April 14, 2022 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the Walter Commerdinger, Jr. County Park located at Browns Road and Edgewood Ave. Brush truck 4-4-8 deployed into the park and located a large area of brush burning along the north banks of Lily Pond. Brush truck 4-4-4 arrived second due and assisted with fire suppression efforts. Engine 4-4-1 also responded and staged outside the park. All units operated under the command of Assistant Chief.Frank Ragona and cleared from the scene at 17:03. The Suffolk County Fire Marshal’s Officer responded and remained on scene for investigation.
