On Thursday, February 17, 2022 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to the Smithtown Fire Department for a Water Rescue in Blydenburg County Park. There was a report of a female subject with a dog that fell through the ice. Water Rescue 4-4-23 responded to the scene and personnel prepared for entry while Suffolk County Police Aviation and Smithtown FD searched the lake and surrounding areas. The female and dog were eventually located on a nearby trail and refused medical aid.
