Nesconset FD Responds to Persons Stranded in Vehicles Due to Flooding Conditions.

At 00:26 on Thursday September 2, 2021 the Nesconset Fire Department was activated to respond to a report of persons stranded in vehicles in floodwater at the intersection of Old Nichols Road and Margaret Drive. First arriving units located two disabled vehicles that were stalled in floodwater and persons inside. Firefighters from Engine 4-4-2 and Brush Truck 4-4-4 assisted the persons from their vehicles to safety.

At 01:03 while operating at this location the Nesconset Fire Department was alerted to additional subjects stranded in vehicles in floodwater at the intersection of Old Nichols Road and Roy Drive. Initial arriving units located one person stranded in their vehicle and another person on the roof of their partially submerged vehicle. Brush Truck 4-4-4 was driven into the floodwater and the stranded persons were transferred to the truck and removed to safety. Firefighters from Engine 4-4-1 also assisted at this location.

All units returned to station for standby until dismissed around 02:00.
