At 5:21am on Monday, June 18, 2023 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to a Residential Structure Fire on Moriches Road in the Stony Brook Fire District.

Engine 4-4-1 responded and assisted with fire suppression and overhaul. The operations were hampered by roof collapse into the structure requiring extensive overhaul using saws to cut away the collapsed roof and manually removing the sections to get to the burning materials below.

The response operated under the command of First Assistant Chief Daniel Madden. 4-4-1 returned to station at 7:17am.
