At 9:12pm on Saturday February 4, 2023 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on Midwood Avenue in Nesconset. IRonkonkoma Engine 5-24-12 and Nesconset Engine 4-4-1 arrived on scene and immediately established a positive water supply and stretched multiple hand lines to start fire suppression and searches of the building with support from Engine 4-4-2 and Tower Ladder 4-4-7. Engines from the Hauppauge, Lakeland, Centereach and St. James Fire Departments also operated on scene. Ambulances from the St. James and Smithtown Fire Departments were on scene and transported one injured EMS member.

All units operated under the command of Chief Frank Ragona and cleared from the scene at 12:06am. Units from the Smithtown Fire Marshals office remained on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
