Working Structure Fire on Cleveland Place

At 6:37PM on Monday, November 21, 2022 the Nesconset Fire Department was dispatched to a Structure Fire on Cleveland Place in Smithtown. Initial arriving units found a detached garage with adjoining storage sheds fully involved.

Firefighters from Engine 4-4-1 arrived on scene and placed an 1-3/4” line into operation. Firefighters from Ronkonkoma Engine 5-24-6 placed a second 1-3/4” hose line in operation and established a positive water source assisted by firefighters from Engine 4-4-2.

Firefighters from Engine 4-4-3 and Tower Ladder 4-4-7 also assisted with the fire suppression efforts. First Responder 4-4-80 and Ambulance 4-4-6B were on scene for any injuries or firefighter rehab. Mutual Aid units from the Lakeland, Smithtown, St James, and Hauppauge Fire Departments also operated on scene.

All units operated under the command of Chief Frank Ragona and cleared from the scene at 9:55PM. The fire investigation was referred to the Fire Marshal’s Office from Smithtown Department of Public Safety.
