At 6:54 AM on Tuesday November 15, 2022 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Old Nichols Road and Gibbs Pond Road.

Initial arriving units encountered a two car accident with one of the occupants unable to exit the vehicle due to the damage caused by the collision. Firefighters from Engine 4-4-2 and Heavy Rescue 4-4-9 removed the door from the vehicle to allow safe removal of the injured driver from the vehicle. Ambulances 4-4-6A and 4-4-6B transported the injured to Stony Brook University Hospital.

All units operated under the command of Third Assistant Chief AJ Anderson and cleared from the scene at 7:30.
