On Monday, June 21, 2021 the Nesconset Fire Department returned to Tackan Elementary School for the first time since June 2019 to conduct Fire Safety Education. Students had an opportunity to learn about making emergency plans, safely exiting their home in a emergency and the importance of meeting places. They also learned about the Emergency Medical Services provided by the Nesconset Fire Department and to see one of our Ambulances and the equipment used by our medical personnel. They also received a demonstration of the hose and equipment carried on our engines and had a chance to try a fire hose and nozzle. Tomorrow the Department will return to the school to complete the safety education with the remainder of the classes.
