At 14:55 on Friday May 14, 2021 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the woods next to 835 Nesconset Highway. The first arriving units located two large areas of brush burning in the woods off 347. The flames started to consume a wooden fence along the adjoining property line to the west and with a wooden shed close by on the adjoining property. Brush Truck 4-4-4 was deployed into the wooded area to knock down the advancing wind fed fire and prevent extension of the fire the shed. Engine 4-4-1 responded into the property complex at 835 Nesconset Highway and established a positive water source and stretched an 1-3/4” hose line along the east side of the fire. Brush truck 4-4-8 arrived on scene and deployed into the woods to assist 4-4-4. All units operated under the command of Assistant Chief Frank Ragona and cleared from the scene at 16:35.

Special thanks to our neighbors at 835 Nesconset Highway who assisted at the scene today.
