Residential Structure Fire on Browns Road

At 14:31 on Saturday, March 27, 2021 the Nesconset Fire Department was activated for a reported Residential Structure Fire on Browns Road. Initial arriving units found a one story private dwelling with a large volume of fire ventilating from the windows on the front and side of the structure. The initial alarm response included an Engine from the Ronkonkoma FD, an Engine from the St. James FD and a Ladder from Lakeland FD as part of our automatic mutual aid plan. Additional assistance to the scene was requested from the Smithtown, Hauppauge and Centereach Fire Departments. The Stony Brook Fire Department provided an Engine and Ambulance for standby at Nesconset FD Headquarters during the duration of the alarm. One firefighter was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for observation. Additional support was provided by the Town of Smithtown Fire Marshal and Animal Control. All units operated under the command of Chief AJ Anderson and were released from the scene at 16:41.
