| Our mission is to anticipate and respond to the public safety needs of our community in a professional and caring manner.
Devils' Door Probationary Members Useful Links The Nesconset Fire Department is comprised of three "companies": Engine Company No. 1, our sister company, Ladder-Rescue Company 2 and Fire Police Company 3. The primary difference is the apparatus that we maintain. Basically, we get the Engine, and Ladder-Rescue gets the ladder truck and the heavy rescue vehicle (with a few other variations). The Fire Police are highly seasoned fire-fighter veterans, whose job is to protect the welfare of our active firefighters. EMS is divided between the two companies, and as such - each company has its own ambulance. Although there are differences in the apparatus we maintain (not to mention our friendly rivalry!), we work together as a cohesive, well-trained unit in the event of emergencies.
