On Sunday, April 13, 2003, the Volunteer Firefighters from Long Island sponsored a Rally in Support of the Troops. Families of our Troops were invited to Calabro Airport in Mastic for a picnic prepared by the Firefighters. Three caravans of Firefighters with their trucks began a trip to the airport. The first began at the Nassau Queens border and were joined by Fire Departments and Ambulance Corps along the Long Island Expressway on their way to the Rally. Separate processions begin on the North and South Fork of Long Island will all converging at the Rally.
