On October 11th 2005 at 1156 hrs the Nesconset Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident in front of 1422 Townline Road. A single vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole. Access to the occupant was delayed due to wires entangling the vehicle. Following confirmation of power shutdown by LIPA Nesconset went to work rendering medical aid and extricating the victim from the vehicle. Nesconset operated with Engine 4-4-2 ,Heavy Rescue 4-4-9, the 4-4-80 (EMS first responder) and ambulance 4-4-6A under the command of First Assistant Chief A.J. Anderson. All units with the exception of ambulance were back in service by 1233 hrs.
