Nesconset Fire Dept was dispatched to a report of Rail Road Ties burning in the vicinity of 128 Montclair Avenue. First arriving Chief Anderson (31) confirmed the fire and requested Mutual Aid for Nissequogue FD's Tanker.
Under the command of Chief of Department Kevin Zanfardino, and assisted by the 3 Assistant Chiefs, a large pile of railroad ties burning in the Smithtown Highway Yard on Montclair Avenue was extinguished in about 4 hour.
Nesconset FD was assisted by Nissequogue FD, Smithtown Fire Marshal and the Smithtown Highway Department.
Responding units included Nesconet Engines 4-4-5, 4-4-2, 4-4-3, Tower Ladder 4-4-7, EMS First Responder 4-4-80, Brush 4-4-8 and Utility 4-4-14. Nissequogue Engine Tanker 4-5-4 and Chief 4-5-30. Smithtown Fire Marshal 4-0-43 and several trucks from the Highway Dept. also assisted.
Ronkonkoma FD provided an Engine in Nesconset Headquarters.
