Signal 13-35 Midwood Ave 03/08/2008
Shortly after 1700 hrs on 03-08-08 the Nesconset Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 125 Midwood Avenue. The first arriving units encountered a large amount of fire in the basement of a 1 story ranch house. Firefighters worked quickly to successfully prevent the spread of the fire any further into the building. Two firefighters were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, one for an animal bite and one for chest pains. The occupants of the dwelling escaped safely. A number of animals expired at this incident. Mutual Aid from Hauppauge FD, St. James FD, Nissequogue FD, Lakeland FD, Ronkonkoma FD, & Stony Brook FD, Stony Brook VAC. Chief Albert J. Anderson Jr. was in command of the scene. This fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal and the Suffolk County Police Department.
